The Da Vinci Code

You guys all know about the famous "The Da Vinci Code", right? I read the book and I loved it. Sure, some parts were confusing. OK, a lot of it was-- but I loved it nonetheless.

I was really excited later to hear that there would be a movie coming out too. But then I was slightly disappointed when I found out that Tom Hanks would starring Robert Langdon. Why? Simply because of the fact that Tom Hanks is much older than the young Langdon, so I didn't see how he'd be able to portray the character. But now I've discovered a trailer of the movie (while surfing Gaia Online, of all places) and I've seen what Tom Hanks looks like in the movie and... I'm just blown away.

Sure, Langdon is, at least for me, a little bit younger, but wow! I didn't expect such a age transformation from Tom Hanks! It made me literally go wide eyed. Those make-up artists sure out-did themselves. He also lost a lot weight, hehe.

So, yeah. Now I'm a bit more positive about the movie. He still got's his couple of wrinkles here and there, but it's bearable, I guess. After watching the trailer, I'd say the movie looks pretty cool and promising. All I'm worried about now is that they're gonna make it into one of those goofy action movies where all they do is punch people in the face and add some special effects and stunts...

But we'll see.

P.S. You can see the trailer here.

Oh it's DEFINITELY not going to be one of those goofy action ones with lots of punches and stunts. Can't you tell from seeing the previews? It's gonna be GOOD! I've watched several previews and all of them look good and have that Da Vinci Code mood of suspense and mystery.

I was iffy on Hanks too, as you know, but I agree that they un-aged him a bit. He still looks older than how I imagine Langdon, but he'll do. The French actress is a good Sophie, and I really like the look of Paul Bettany (who was the villain in Firewall, which I saw recently) for the albino guy. He looks creepy! lol. And very evil. Bettany is sortof good-looking, sometimes, and I think the white-blonde hair looks good on him (and yet he looks creepy, too).

I am really amazed at all the neat places they show in the preview! The Louvre museum is the real thing (although that Mona Lisa is fake, the part where Frank is running through past the art? That's the REAL museum!), and that pyramid thing just look SO awesome!

I can't wait till it comes out! I heard it was August, but now it is May! The 17th, if I remember right from the other day.

It will be so neat to see! I hope they make it good.
