Miranda's Big Mistake by Jill Mansell

"Miranda is thrilled when she meets Greg at a cocktail party. He's gorgeous, he's funny - and he's very keen. Just what a girl needs to put some sparkle in her life. Heavens, he's practically perfect! Greg likes Miranda a lot. She's young, she's pretty, and she never talks about babies. Of course he hasn't told her everything about himself - even the sweetest girls can be a bit funny about a man who's just left his newly pregnant wife. But there's no way she's going to find out - or is there?
Luckily for Miranda men are like buses - you don't see any for ages then three come along at once. She just needs to catch the right one..."
I feel like yelling O-M-G a billion times like a little teenager because this book was so frikkin' GOOD! You know when a book leaves you with a happy feeling inside -- this is it! I literally bought this book on iBooks the day before yesterday (it was just one dollar!!) and I finished it today, just now. All the 62 chapters. In 1 day and a half.

It was just so delicious to read. The characters had so much personality and each were so different. I fell in love with nearly all of them, it's crazy! The author weaves the story of every character effortlessly into one.

The whole book felt like a big breathe of fresh air. My experience in chick flick novels are mostly Meg Cabot and she has a distinct style that is very charming -- but I found this author, Jill Mansell, to be so terribly down to earth in one way and yet so ridiculously funny at the same time. I guess being British brings a different sense of humor as well, which helps! (Plenty of british slang, btw.)

I don't know, I just can't explain it! It's not your typical cliché romance novel. I mean, sure, somehow everybody gets a happy ending -- but honestly I couldn't put it down either way.

AHH I'm just still giddy from it!

Anyway, if you don't like the light chick flick kind of read, I can understand that you may not like this kind of book. But if even so, it's worth a peak just for the sheer personality it has.

Bloggers are fun!

And I only found out today that Adam Young from Owl City had his own blog-- and don't go thinkin' it's one of those NEWS blogs. He actually WRITES and it is one of the most quirky and adorable and inspiring and amusing little blog I have had the pleasure to read in a while.

Of course, it helps that I was already a fan of his music-- but nonetheless! He's even more adorable in his musings. D8 Darn him, he is so cute.

But seriously, the dude can write. I wish I was so good with fancy words and all. You know how people can write so well that it just makes sense? It just clicks with you? Well, that's how he comes across to me in his blog.

Sorry for sounding like such a fangirl. It just came out.

Online graphic novels that you need to check out!

The Meek
This is a graphic novel that left me wonderfully surprised and I'm embarrassed that I discovered it only last year. The course of the story seems effortless, yet when you read it-- you can tell the creator put a hell a lot of work into it! In my opinion this could be a movie. It's just that deep and intricate. Besides, the artwork is top-notch. (AND IT'S IN FULL BLOWN COLOR MAN) GO READ IT!

Lackadaisy
First thing first. The 20's. Awesome period. Second: CATS. Two things I love all in one comic. You may be thinking: Cats? Furry comic? What? Noo! -- But seriously. Tracy Butler is so good at drawing these guys that I found myself forgetting they were cats -- they have such personality and wit that it's like reading a comic that has people --- only far more amusing than ever. And she has the period down to every detail, it's amazing! All in all, you HAVE to give this comic a try.

Johnny Wander
You know those little episodic comics you're used to reading in the newspaper with the little jokes in them that make you laugh? Well, Johnny Wander is one of those, only BETTER and more epic. The characters are the very creators and their social circle, as they chronicle the many bizarre and amusing things that happen in their lives. There hasn't been one strip that hasn't made me laugh out loud. Or giggle. :-3

Roza: The Cursed Mage
Once again, here is a comic where a lot of work/LOVE was put into it. A great spin on the fantasy genre! I don't know what else to say, for I feel like I'll be repeating myself over again. D: Might I mention it's also in color! (although the most recent pages aren't. but they are still awesome!) It's a story with just enough humor and adventure to keep you reading.

Phoenix Requiem
This story is played in the Victorian era, but with a supernatural twist!  Yet again, an artist that is so kind in coloring her pages. (We are so spoiled!) Suspense and romance are its main focus. As you can see as the list grows longer I find myself more at a loss at what else to say. AAH. NO. FORGIVE ME.

The Dreamer
This is a webcomic that normally wouldn't be to my liking because of the art style. Yes, I am normally not a fan of the whole classical american comic art style. But this is such an original concept that it won me over. The story is about a 17 year old girl, high school senior who starts having vivid dreams about a man called Alan Warren, a soldier that served during the Revolutionary War in 1776. Full of adventure, romance and war, what more could you want? And what better way to learn some good old american history?

Ok, I must retire. I could put up some more comic recommendations but I think it'd be pushing it tonight. Check out one of these guys and tell me what you think! Ta-ta! ;9 (Click on the banner to get to their respective website!)

EDIT:

Hanna Is Not a Boy's Name
It slipped my mind to mention this one. LAST ONE TONIGHT I SWEAR. This comic is pure awesomeness. It has a great, quirky personality with a wonderful sense of humor. Vampires, zombies-- supernatural galore -- it doesn't take itself too seriously... at first. Then the story gets really interesting! I particularly love the coloring technique, which is very free spirited. And the artwork and panelling. AND EVERYTHING. Anyway, just feast your senses.

I'll mention some more comics tomorrow perhaps...

Late update (John Mayer alert!)

OK, I won't be able to mention much in detail at this very moment, but I'll try and mention the basic details. ...And before I say anything else, I must announce one thing:

I found out last night on my twitter (something I go to very rarely when I'm seriously bored) that John Mayer will be playing in West Palm Beach on Sept. 11th! And there's still seats available! (sadly not front row, though.) It was already past midnight when I saw the video-message from JM. I almost thought it was a joke. My dad was already asking me once again to go to sleep and I seriously didn't think I would be able to because I was so excited. West Palm Beach is only a 2 hour drive from Miami!

Even though the ticket's pricy, I reeeeaaaalllly want to buy a seat anyway. (This is coming from a stingy person when it comes to spending money.) Who knows when's the next time I'll be able to go to his concert!

Honestly, that made my night yesterday. /o/

Now, onto more boring things:

• I've been in Miami for almost 2 weeks now. Still in a motel with my dad until we have found and decided on a temporary apartment. That aspect has been a bit of a pain.

• I've finished my registration for MDC and already chose my classes. They're all in the afternoon! I mean, my classes. I can't see myself waking up who knows how early to go to a class starting 7AM or 8AM after this long vacation.

• Don't have a purchased car yet, because I still have to do the DMV exam. I think today I'll pay for the DATA course online (drug and traffic awareness course)... Yesterday for the second time, I learned a little bit on driving in my dad's car. We went to one of those big empty parking lots, but even so, I felt so nervous driving. Maybe 'cause my dad made such a darn serious examiner. I also realized yesterday that I still have a lot more to read on the DMV handbook. -_-

That's pretty much all I can tell you for now. I'm also trying to get rid of a cold I caught from my dad (which he hasn't gotten rid of yet haha). I miss Brazil, but I'm also liking the change. I can definitely see myself getting excited if I hear any people speaking portuguese here, though. Which already happened a couple days ago at the Apple store. :D

I'll try to post more soon.

Update

I’m terribly behind on this blog, it seems. So that I don’t drag out my thoughts aimlessly here, I’ll mention some things that have been on my mind:
  1. College life and the idea of my registration going wrong. See, I registered ages ago, like at the end of last year, I think. But there are still some loose ends to tie (college leveling test, registering for classes, etc) , which I can only do once I’m in Miami. And since I love to worry about possible scenarios, I can’t help but think something’ll back fire. I know there’s no point worrying, but what if I can’t register for the classes I want or need? What if there’s a space limit? What if a ton of people are going for computer animation as their major?! Ah well... time will tell I suppose. >;p
  2. Packing and ridding of junk. See, my dad wants to be completely mobile. In other words, we’re getting rid of pretty much everything we have except for things I wish to take with me to Miami and vice-versa for my dad. We’ve sold a lot of furniture already, thankfully. But there’s still a TON of stuff that’s just been hiding itself in the house and UGH I can’t wait to be over with it. I dread tomorrow and the amount of stuff I’ll have to go through. The good news though is that today I got my whole room pretty much wiped out -- that is, rid of junk. At least it isn’t as crazy-messy like it has been recently.
  3. Dragging on the topic above, I have this second suitcase which I’m suppose to use to figure what I can fit with things I feel I really want to take... and I had to go through it all again today (meaning I had to take out everything in that suitcase out) -- and it lead me to realizing I’ll have to ship all of my heavy books and comics in a box to Miami, while the other half I can take with me... IF I’M LUCKY and it doesn’t weigh too much. Seriously I can’t believe how much I have! Even with all the bazillion books, papers and other things I got rid of -- it’s still a lot!
  4. Also, on the topic of college: On videojug.com I discovered a fellow called Harlan Cohen, where he gives tips and advice regarding college. I found him so likable and funny that when I went to his website I found out he was also an author of several books, one of them being a guide on college life (“The Naked Roomate”) I immediately told my dad I wanted to buy once I was in the U.S.. Check out his two websites: The Naked Roomate and Help me Harlan!
  5. Oh, I might as well mention when I’ll be in Miami. I’ll be arriving during the first week of June, staying at a short term apartment until we find a long term rental that is to our liking and fits our budget. That may also be hindered/influenced by the possibility of Cristina coming to live with me in the late Fall of this year or the beginning of next year. Even though that has been a known possibility, my dad isn’t too keen on the idea now. We’ll see what happens in a couple months! We haven’t chosen a short term apartment yet -- hopefully me and me dad’ll have that done and over with finally tomorrow.
  6. Once in Miami I’ll start going to math review classes at the college. I don’t consider myself a total ignorant about math, I’m actually not that bad -- but going through almost six months without studying a whole lot of math (I honestly tried but it’s darn hard without no one pressuring you!), it tends to become a blur, even the things you use to be good at. So I need that  “refresh” button pressed in my brain!
  7. Uuuuh, I’m tired. I could talk about a lot of other things, but it’s gonna get late and I still need to get my bum in the shower. I’ll just finish this post saying I discovered this awesome web comic this morning and could not stop reading (unless I was forced to). It’s called Hanna is Not a Boy’s Name. This title doesn’t say everything, but it says great humor, which you’ll notice once reading it. At the beginning that may be what it seems, just humor -- but upon reading more it’s got a great set of characters and an interesting story. Not to mention humor!! (Sorry, I like things that make me laugh.) So check it out and see if it’s your cup of tea. It also has rock-your-socks artwork and awesome coloring. Hmm.. I should make a post on all the web comics I love and recommend. That’s be fun!

My cake!

Yes I actually made this!  The white covering is whip cream made from the pack - the semi made from scratch kind -- where you add the powder from the box and mix in cold milk really fast with a whisk. I've tried this before and I failed terribly but this time for some reason I managed to get it right! Maybe my determination was greater, lol. Your arm really hurts when you're doing it, though. All in all I'm just so happy I managed to go about my wishes to have a cake for my birthday and actually be the one who made it without burning it! I made the cake the day before.

Cake and music .-.

Listening to: "Stardust" - Michael Bublé with Naturally 7
So I was looking up tour dates for either Michael Bublé or John Mayer since I thought: Hey, since I'll be in the US now, I should take advantage of the perks! These two guys are the only ones possibly capable of making me stand in a huge crowd for hours, I think. Yes, they are completely different but I love them!

Anyway, for the bazillion locations that there are on both websites they only have TWO CITIES in Florida. Seriously, that is so cruel! And then when I thought I found something close by -- Tampa, for a John Mayer concert -- it's for September and I'll be busy with college already.  AAAAH. No fair! ;3; The only other option was a MB concert in Jacksonville, which is like more than 5 hours drive from Miami, according to Google Maps -- plus it's in July, which is shortly after I arrive from Brazil -- so that's already a no-go.

But... there will be other times, years to come -- I guess. It still sucks though.

My birthday's tomorrow. I made a cake this afternoon-- a chocolate cake. And I didn't burn it!! I swear, the very few times I've tried making a cake, I've always managed to burn it. Sadly, when I was making the frosting, I used the wrong type of butter/margarine and instead of becoming creamy it became a mix between sugar, milk and curd-like butter... so that part didn't work out. BUT! There is always hope in getting whip cream tomorrow morning, or if not -- I have ice-cream in the freezer! Either way, what's most important is that the cake wasn't a disaster! At least as far as appearances go.

Cleanin', PMS, responsibilities...

Listening to: "U Can't Touch This" - Glee Cast
Yes, Glee is addicting. When it first came out I didn't like it much. I thought the humor was strange and the story was too full of typical stereotypes and sometimes plain cheesy. But then I watched some more episodes with a bunch of friends who already liked the show, and of course it's contagious! I think it's simply one of those shows that people either love or hate and sometimes it's just a matter of growing on you. Which was my case. But I always liked Kurt even when I didn't like the show, though! Now I am once again hooked after the break they took and have been downloading episodes online, lol. I'm also loving even the cheesy parts of the show because it just makes me laugh. Besides I always loved music. And this show has made me like songs I normally wouldn't ever listen to.

Actually, I wasn't planning to start this post with a Glee introduction, but since some people may notice my choice of song, I dunno -- why not mention it? I am hooked on that song ever since ... well, what -- yesterday? I always liked the original song and to have the Glee dudes do it was really fun to watch and now I can't get enough of it. It's just the song to cheer me up and get you moving!

Which brings me to mention my recent PMS. For the last 2 or 3 days I've been all sour and no fun. Well, at least let's just say I've had no enthusiasm these past few days. Right now, at this very moment, I feel fine. But this morning and through the afternoon, I was all frowns and all I could think of was the things that were bothering me. Mostly responsibilities and basic self organization.

I'm not addressing a lot of things I should be -- studying, errands for my dad, getting rid of things at home, etc. And organization is something that is terribly lacking for me. I use to be such a neat freak when I was a kid, the kind that has a panic attack inside when someone starts moving something out of its "designated" place. But as I got into the teen phase, say... at 16? I'd say I lost my knack for organization at 16 or 17. And it's so sad, because I really do strive to be neat! I want to be neat. My nature is to be attracted to neat, clean environments. I mean, heck -- I'm an anti-germ freak, for sure. So being a neat-freak seems only natural. Alas, it remains a struggle for me to keep my things organized! Like I hate dust with a passion but I still let it accumulate on my desk.

...So I lament my flaws but get annoyed when my dad insists on me making To-Do lists for myself. (Yes, I'm a hypocrite like everyone else!)

I hope I survive with my place in Miami until December, when Cristina might be moving in. She's definitely better at keeping things organized. I can't count how many times I went to her house and watched her clean her room, top to bottom.

Time went by slowly

Listening to: "La belle dame sans regrets" - Chris Botti

I think I only have come to love jazz so much because of the influence from my dad, when he use to be really into it. Jazz is the epitome of class and luxury, if you ask me. When you listen to it, you can't help but think of a quiet, relaxing, chic restaurant.. or a lifestyle.

I spent most of today playing the Sims 3. I know, some people can't fathom what is so fun about such a game. But I've always been attracted to the idea of creating little people and seeing them interact, and just managing it all. I liked management games ever since I was little.

It was really disorientating, this morning, to come back from the airport after seeing Cristina off, and going back to sleep for another 2 hours or so. I swear I woke up thinking: Huh?

I don't have much to talk about at the moment. Just felt like posting something.

I can't think of a title

Listening to: "What I Do (feat. Plies)" - Chris Brown

I had the idea, that while at the festival in São Paulo, I'd make a record of each day, but ha ha! How naive of me! I always arrived exhausted at the hotel, only having the energy to take a shower and go to bed. So yeah... It was a nice festival, and I felt like it had ended too soon-- but I was also glad, in a way, knowing I could rest a bit more. Despite all the devotees I didn't know, I was able to see a few familiar faces. I could have sworn there was this one guy who I've seen at Badger before. During the festival, I got diksha.

AAH! Mosquitos are eating me alive! Or they're trying too...

Um, I got to visit a friend in SP after the festival, Cristina. Her boyfriend was there too, but for some reason I didn't mind at all. Don't get me wrong, I like him, but there was a phase of mine where I couldn't stand them being together all the time. I barely had any time with her. But that chapter has passed.

My dad and I are starting to make plans for the move to Recife (yet another city!) that'll happen in a few months. And then we plan to go to Miami in June or July. I've been trying to find an apartment in the Kendall area that's close by the campus I'll be going to, but prices are high. Darn suburbs! >;3

Since I never seem to post any of my designs ( I am so stingy ) and since the day that I shall actually use them like I planned will be way too much in the future (as in never, maybe?), there's no big harm, I guess. I lost my nice ones from my old computer though. (Lesson learned: Always make backups!)

I've made pancakes!

Yes, pancakes! I dreamed of making them someday-- on my own. It's been years since I've had them. I remember when I was a kid I'd be at a friend's house and his dad would make pancakes. *-*

The insides came out a little mushy, though. I guess I should have been more patient and let them on the frying pan a little longer. I honestly don't remember how they're supposed to be, other than fluffy, maybe? For the first try they were okay, I guess. I only wish I has whip-cream-- that would have completed it!

Today I got my final report card and I passed! I had never been so nervous to get my grades-- I was even scared to open the envelope and see, so one of the staff opened it for me. I'm going to miss school, especially this particular school. Even though it's considered one of the more tough and disciplined ones, I dunno why-- I really liked it. The teachers, the people, the staff. Everything. I complained a ton this year, but all in all, I still love the school. On my way there I also got to see Marina, a friend from last year which I barely got to see this year, 'cause she continued to study in the afternoon and not in the morning like me. I haven't even mentioned to her that I'm going to go to Florida soon. x_x I feel a little guilty about that.

I'm glad I passed "straight through", despite it not being with flying colors-- but I'm sorta stumped that I don't have summer school-- 'cause it was going to be the excuse to see my other classmates. Not to say I can't go stop by the school still, since those who are going through to the 2nd level of the university/college entrance exam are still going to class. But I'm almost positive someone's gonna have to push me in order to go there.

I'm overall happy about today. Did I mention that while my dad has been away I've been watching a lot of TV? Yeah, a lot! Shameful me. ¬o¬ I can't help it, it's fun as "company".

what title should I put? ?_?;

I felt so inspired to study today. I did start a little later than I should have, and I had big hopes to be able to study Chemistry and a little bit of Biology, but I didn't even manage to study all of Chemistry. I'm just too slow...

I'm not going to let myself get stressed out yet, though. That has been my strategy lately-- no stress! Stress leads you to ruin, at times. Or panicking.

I'm a hard working student at some times, but lazy in comparison to some others. Daddy-o says I should not just focus on studying. And he's right! But I have such a hard time on trying to do my best on school while focusing on other things. In that sense I'm not a good multi-tasker.

Yeck, why do I always start with school t-t As if it it'll be so important to me in the next couple years, right? But I have this complex that tells me I need to prove myself capable. Me dad only wants me to pass, and so do I, but I want to pass with good grades, with great grades. Not just okay grades. ~_~

Nya, whatever. I have to figure out a balance somehow. I need to keep school out of this blog somehow. It eats up all my posts and takes out all the quirkiness.

Speaking of quirkiness-- check out a band called The Boy Least Likely To. They are very cool and sweet and odd! Sadly I haven;t been able to find all the songs I wanted for download. Go to their website.

One recommendation is "Every Goliath Has Its David". A lot of their songs are so happy and cute. Some songs can get their dark side too, though. But seriously, take a look! Another song that's great as well, and more easy to find, is "Be Gentle with Me". And well-- the others ones are awesome too! -->(Balloon On A Broken String!) Too bad they don't have all the songs of their new album on the site. ;o One reviewer said that if your plushies and teddybears started a band, these would be the songs they'd be singing. XD

Oh and of course they are British. Good ol' brits make good music, interesting and creative stuff-- let's admit it!

Ramble-y post. Not what I wanted. And it's 9PM AHHHH!!! ToT I have to be ready by 9:30 for bed.
I sound like such a kid here, lol.

Halloween tag (latelate)

I should be in bed, but now that I feel hyped 'cause Paula starting to jabber about the possibility of visiting during vacation(as if it were possible) and now I'm all giddy at the thought of it. Waaaaaaaaaaaaa~~

But anyway, since Chai tagged, and I've been such a lame blogger, emailer, commenter, and replier lately, I owe a lot to Chai. So here 'goes:

1) What were your favorite games to play when you were a kid? Do you remember the rules? Share them here (bored kids grounded from video games will thank you):
I remember MONOPOLY and Go Fish. And yes, as old as Go Fish is, I don't actually remember how to play it anymore. All I remember is the "go fish" line, and laughing when someone else that wasn't me, grumbled and pouted in frustration-- like haha, you don't have the winning cards hahaha! Of course I was too spacy even then to actually win a game, I think.

2) Did you go trick-or-treating when you were a kid? What was your favorite costume ever?
Yes I DID. I had a HUGE sweet tooth back then. Sure, I wasn't a fan of the Halloween spirit, like the crazy hyped-screaming-teenagers running in the streets in masks, laughing like idiots, creeped the hell of me, but I loved the candy part. The candy was the REWARD from all the STRESS of going out in the DARK. Because I was a wuss back then.

So yeah, the candy rocked. I loved Toostie Rolls!! They were my favorite. ;-; I miss them.

Costume wise, hmmm. One I remember being happy about was being dressed up as a genie... Or was it Jasmine? All I know is that I was a Disney buff, especially for Aladdin, and the first and very last time I tried being witch failed terribly because everybody kept complaining about my homemade broom that was poking them. Haha. It was embarrassing back then but now it's just plain funny to remember.

4) Do you remember any silly or gross songs or rhymes from your childhood (like, "Greasy Grimy Gopher Guts")? Share them with us!
No. I don't...

5) What is your favorite Halloween memory?
Coming back with a big bag of candy... I don't remember having a specific favorite memory.

6) What goodies do you hope to find in your treat bag this Halloween?
I didn't have Halloween this year. I mean, sure I played a couple games in English class, but I was so tired by the end of the day, I didn't really feel enthusiastic about it.

Listening to: "If You Can Afford Me" - Kate Perry

Finally I'm managing to get my studying schedule back on track. That is.. at least I'm starting to get my show together, trying to be more organized again. I just hope I can do it all in time to pass this year, with no extra classes in December. I want early vacation!

Cristina's birthday was yesterday, so after school I, her, and some other friends went to eat out at a restaurant. We were going to go with a bus all the way, but we took the wrong one, and had to get off-- we walked the rest of the way there. For nearly 40 minutes. Imagine a about 6 people with backpacks walking at night in the streets. I wasn't really nervous or scared only because there was at least one guy, Eduardo, there. Davi doesn't count, because I don't think he'd be reliable in a tough situation. So yeah-- 2 guys and 3 girls. Later to be meeting up with Marina's boyfriend. All in all, it was fun. The only down side is that my dish took ages because they burnt it the first time, and since I was stubborn and wanted the same dish, waited for the next one to be made, which took even longer than what I was told.

I'm quite happy, now that I've made myself more physiqued to study... I think that's what has been throwing me off these past few weeks, or last two months even.

I don't know if I should be happy or sad to have not much to talk about (new things, that is).

french-fries yummy

My moment of creativity is either now or never. I mean… I’m either going to post now or only a week later. That’s just my pattern lately. My pattern of thought, that is… since I haven’t posted in ages, actually.

Since I seem to always start with school—I’m not going to this time. Yes, I said the word, but the rest of that I can mention at the end, right? Right.

So. It’s nearly 11PM and I hope I can make myself wake up relatively early so that I can get a quick start at studying for my Geography test coming this Tuesday. I must get myself enthusiastic studying again. My grades went a little down hill these past few months. I think my last Geography test was my best grade in comparison to my other grades as of late.

I don’t understand why I manage to do so well on the Geography tests. Because even when I study for it all, when I’m reading the stuff in front of me, I barely understand half of it. I go like—“ Huh? What? Wait, I have to read that again.“ And so I read the same paragraph 3 times.

I like Geography. I just don’t like studying it. And once it gets into day-to-day politics I cringe. I know it’s good to know about the recent happenings, but it all gets so much more complicated for my wee little brain.

Yes, only I can call my brain “wee”. On my blog… If someone else called my brain small I’d be really annoyed. But that’s just me and my lack of knowing how to deal with criticism.

OK. I ended up talking about school first, in the end. My last few blog posts have obtained a style where I cannot deny my thoughts anymore. As hard as I try to not mention something, I mention it anyway. Maybe this is a sign I’m maturing? Or maybe I’m more relaxed here…

I barely ate anything today. I’m starting to feel a subtle heaviness in my eyes. Very subtle, but it’s there. Yet I will not go yet!

I have been not drawing much. …Just the regular doodle-faces-and-eyes-on-the-side-of-my-notebook-thing. I have not written anything. I also haven’t replied to Chai’s Maugre e-mail. OMG!

Oh yes. It’s been a month and maybe a week or two since I cut my hair. Real short. I love it. Short hair is just plain better for me.

‘Been going out a lot during the weekends. Last weekend I slept over at Marina’s place, after going to an anime convention with her, Cristina and friends. I was only able to buy three mangas. I didn’t have the courage to spend over R$20. I also only saw Ariel when he was already on his way off! This is the 2nd time this has happened to me.

And every time I always forget to say his name when I say hello. I just end up saying hello. Whereas Cristina has had the luck of saying hello to him, with his name attached, and in return, has received a smile as well. I want a smile too, darn it! It has happened already 2 times. Hopefully next time I can do something that’ll give me a smile as well…

You have no idea how adorable and gorgeous he looks when he smiles. With a normal expression, or in other words, a straight face, he looks a bit spacey, in a cute adorable way, but when he smiles, it’s beautiful. Of course I think like this because I’m stuck having a crush on him. Otherwise he ain’t that good-looking.

This is random, but have you ever gone skinny-dipping? Well, I have. Two weeks ago, in a freezing cold pool. I didn’t want to. But the girls dragged me into the pool and took away anything that covered me. At first I was frikkin’ embarrassed. Yet in the end, I had a lot of fun. Thank goodness no one else was home other than the maid.

This was at Ariel’s house, btw. Yes—he has a sister, you see. And she was the only one at home once her parents and her 3 bothers went out, and since she didn’t want us to go home—me, Cristina, Marina, Mariana, and herself made French-fries and chocolate, while some talked about the crazy stories or problems in their life. The French-fries were yummy.

I should go to bed. Nearly 11:30 PM.
I’ll talk more some other time! Tootles.

We shall haunt you.

I did not study a THING today.

After nearly not making it to one of the very last theatre meetings at school this morning (because they have this stupid rule that you can only be 6 minutes late max-- but I managed to slip in anyway), I took a bus with Adrianna and her brother to their house, with the plan that we'd study Math later in the afternoon with Lorena, for the upcoming test on Tuesday. Yet not only did Lorena come late, we could not seem to concentrate at first. Then, when we went up to her apartment to get a snack (popcorn) and we came back down to the porch at the entrance of the building, the six 7 year-olds playing around there feasted their greedy eyes on our popcorn bag and demanded some!

So we gave them some. But then they went totally BESERK and demanded more and more, until they started to jump on top of us, trying to grab the bag from our lifted arm. At one point I had the bag in my hand, since I was the tallest, so I though "HAH, you little brats won't get it now-- >;D!!" Little did I know they were darn determined, and I thought I was going to fall on the floor. We even went to the lengths of possibly going into the elevator and going back to her apartment, but NO. They just HAD to follow and jump like maniacs. I swear, those kids must have been seriously high on something.

So as you must have imagined, we eventually had to surrender to their insanity (just to get the idea, they even went to eat bits of popcorn that fell on the floor!)-- they got their popcorn and we got our peace to study. That is what we thought the deal was.

Oh, no. We were SO wrong! A few minutes later they started talking to us again (if you call speaking unnecessarily loud "talking"), insisting that they pester us with their odd jokes. Like they even had their own collection of dirty jokes-- in other words, about sex. It makes me realize how innocent my youth at that age was. o_o I mean, what happened to parental control?

So yeah. They went on about stuff-- pure nonsense. (Did I mention one boy was licking the insides of the popcorn bag that I had PUT IN THE TRASH to get the darn SALT taste on his tongue?!) At some point, we even went into the parking lot to see if we could get some peace. But NO, man!!! They followed us there. Only 15 minutes later or so, they said good-bye ("good-bye drunk ladies." they said. I was about to say "Good-bye you stonies!").

After some talking (since we couldn't possibly study properly on a bench), we went back to that dreaded porch and thank god they were gone-- they went upstairs to there little mommies. I fear for those poor mothers. O_o;; Those kids were scary, man!

Then we dragged our conversation to teachers and such, and how Adrianna is infatuated with our History teacher. Lorena could not stop reminding how she really had some doubts about some linear systems... therefore we did study a little bit (I explained to both her and Adrianna the basics on how to do solve a system). If you call that studying.

Despite those facts, I had a lot of fun. We laughed a lot as wells-- and that's always a plus! Now I'm home and... well, I had this huge urge to post about today. Well, mostly about the crazy kids.

On another note:
March and April were just a while ago, and now we're already in May. My birthday is coming the Sunday after this one! Isn't it freaky how this year is flying by? Yup. It sure is. My vacation starts already in the middle of next month! (thank goodness!)

TAKOYAKIs NANA town

Listening to: "Wait A Minute" - Pussycat Dolls

I must mention this adorable game. It is a fan made, mini-flash pixel-like game based on the popular shoujo manga called NANA. For some wonderful reason, the site that made it, who also translates scans of the manga, decided to give us net surfers some fun as well. As I am a huge NANA fan, I squealed at the greatness of it all. The game is so cute!! Unfortunately there is the one last little mini game in it that I cannot complete. Buuah. It's one of those games where you have to find all of the items he asked for in the room, and I can't find the darn last one! /;o;/

Go the heart to check it out--> <3
