Listening to: "Kiseki" - BoA
A scene of two characters having a ride in their private carraige one Saturday morning to go to a funeral...I think. A scene that's been in my head for a while... This is just a bit of it, so it probably doesn't sound finished.
It was a day like almost every other. We both sat in the carriage that was supposed to be called “luxurious”. I observed the silk curtains with embroidery of lace that adorned the windows, and touched the cushioned seat with exquisite patterns. It was soft, but I did not feel comforted. How could I, when I had to be sitting next to him? This ride was no luxury to me.
I looked to the serious man the that was my husband. He looked straight out to the window. He knew I was looking, I could tell. But he did not turn his head. I knew him well enough to expect that. I examined the back of his head for a moment. All that was to see were those gorgeous chocolate colored locks. Sighing inwardly, I decided to follow his suit and turn to the window beside me. I rested my chin on my hand as I looked upon the pine trees and pastures outside. The sun was bright outside, shining like its first happy day on earth. I sometimes wondered why I couldn’t be like that ball of light. There was a time where I was… but many years ago it was.

More, more, more! I love this! Your writing here is really good. The characters are alive. I can feel the woman's sadness and regret, and wishing for the past. It's so sad she's married to a guy she doesn't like!
I like your description of how the carriage is supposed to be luxurious but isn't, and the details you put into that.
Lovely! Please write more. Or just put in more posts like this with your little scene ideas in them, I really have fun reading them. :D
I'm curious about this woman in the story.
