Yesterday was my dad's birthday. November 3rd. And can you believe I forgot about it? Can you believe that I had the nerve to forget and only be reminded by the birthday e-card sent by my mom? I swear, I was aware of such an event the day before yesterday, but somehow... that morning, it all flew by and I had completely forgotten! What a wonderful daughter I am, huh...
Anyway, luckily my dad isn't a big fan of birthdays, especially when it's his. He doesn't like a big fuss being done because of it. So in result, all we did was eat some chinese food for lunch (which I haven't had in ages!), strolled around the mall, and rented a couple movies. Oh, and we bought one of those ready-made cake batters to make today. Late, I know. But I guess he doesn't mind.
We rented two movies. One I picked, a romantic-comedy, "Failure to Launch". It was funny enough to be comedy, lol. If you haven't seen it, watch it for a laugh or two.
The other one my dad picked. It's called "The Legend", an old movie where Tom Cruise is like in his early twenties. Supposedly one of my dad's favorite movies. A fairytale, but a classic? 'Haven't seen it yet. Hopefully we'll watch it today.
I'm right now listening to a song called "Daughters", by John Mayer. (Or is it just sung by him?) It's such a sweet song! I have fallen in love with it, so I must put a bit of the lyrics here. This is almost half of the song:
Fathers be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers be good to your daughters too
Boys, you can break
You'll find out how much they can take
Boys will be strong
And boys soldier on
But boys would be gone without warmth from
A woman's good, good heart
On behalf of every man
Looking out for every girl
You are the god and the weight of her world
And just for the heck of it, just to add more whipp cream on my post, I'm going to post the whole song on this little player from that radio.blog. thingie. Play it if you like, and tell me what you think!

Nice song. I'm listening to it right now.
Oh, that's too bad about you forgeting the bday...I would feel terrible, too. but it was forgiven, and your dad is one of those no-fuss people, so that's good.
"The LEgend" is good! I've heard of "Failure to Launch" but don't think I've seen it yet. Should watch it, eh?
Sounds like a fun birthday day. :D
